Allow Me To Introduce Myself

image of Vancouver web designer Ryan Noakes in a suit with a large smileHi, I’m Ryan, a Vancouver web designer who dislikes piña coladas and getting caught in the rain.  I recently completed BCIT’s Technical Web Design program, and I absolutely LOVE coding websites.  I actually have a rather different background for a web developer; I’m a classical composer and musician.  Interestingly, it is my musical background that lead me to web design.

Back in 1999 I started an a cappella quartet (think rock band with no instruments, just vocals), and built my first website for the quartet.  (good old Netscape Composer – anyone remember that old chestnut?)  A new a cappella group in the mid 2000’s led to a new website, and eventually while I was working towards my BMus degree at the University of Victoria I found myself wanting to share recordings of my compositions and news about what I was up to online and I built myself a website.

I focus on building sites using WordPress, because I really like how it enables me to create solutions for the site’s client that is easy for them to use to continue to maintain and add content to their site.  Please take a look at my portfolio. If you have any questions, comments, concerns, or communications of any kind, please contact me.
